Lindenwood Early Close Today (2/16) – Classes After 3 p.m. Held Virtually

Due to inclement weather and potentially hazardous road conditions, the Lindenwood University campus is closing at 3 p.m. today, February 16. Employees and students are encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling. Essential Employees should contact their supervisor for their on-campus schedule. We thank you in advance for your service. 

In-person classes starting at 3 p.m. or later today will be held virtually or will have learning activities that can be completed remotely. Students that are enrolled in classes that are online, hyflex, or hybrid should check Canvas and email for information from their professor, since many of these learning activities will continue virtually. Faculty should provide information regarding changes to class assignments and deadlines. Students should check Canvas and email for communication from their instructors. 

Faculty and staff are advised to take their laptops and work materials home with them in case of continuing bad weather.

All in-person campus activities starting at 3 p.m. or later are canceled. Virtual events may continue as planned. Any change in dining service hours will be communicated and/or updated in GrubHub.

Built in 1950, Cobbs Hall is named in memory of Thomas H. Cobbs, a prominent St. Louis attorney and member of the University’s Board of Trustees, Cobbs Hall offers air-conditioned traditional rooms for 115 residents.

In the summer of 2016, brand new hard wood flooring was installed in all of the rooms and throughout the hallway of Cobbs Hall. Located on the heritage side of campus, Cobbs Hall is home to 115 sophomores, juniors, and seniors. of various majors, sports, and cultural backgrounds. The basement and second floors of Cobbs house male students, while the first and third floors house female students. Cobbs is made-up of spacious one-, two-, and three-person rooms with the option of a private, community or shared bathroom spread out among four floors, including the basement floor. Cobbs is not equipped with an elevator, which means that using the stairs is the only outlet when traveling up to the second and third floors. Each resident of Lindenwood University in Cobbs is provided with an extra-long twin bed frame, mattress, three-drawer dresser, desk, chair, closet or wardrobe.

The lobby of Cobbs Hall offers a comfortable air conditioned lounge with a microwave, flat screen TV, vending machine and pool table. Microwaves in individual’s rooms are not permitted; however, students are allowed to have mini-fridges in their rooms. Any additional furniture a resident wishes to bring into their room that compromises the shared space between roommates must be approved by the Residential Community Coordinator of Cobbs Hall. In addition to the lobby, there is also a laundry facility and vending machine on the basement floor for residents to use.

Cobbs is complete with all the modern amenities such as new Wi-Fi. Each room is supplied with a single air conditioning unit and thermostat to allow the resident to control how hot or cold they wish their room to be. 

Cobbs is conveniently located near Spellmann Campus Center, Harmon Hall, Young Hall, Butler Hall, Library and Academic Resources Center and Roemer Hall.
